Even if you have a Medicare Advantage plan or Medicare supplement, there are limitations for coverage of skilled nursing care. If you're on Original Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan, the first 20 days are covered at cost to you. If you have a Medicare supplement, days 21-100 are also covered at no out-of-pocket cost.

After 100 days, you become responsible for all costs.

Another thing you need to know is that you have to have a minimum 3-day hospital stay for skilled nursing care coverage to kick in and your health has to be improving under skilled nursing care for it to be covered.
