I worked with a client recently, and his experience is a cautionary tale that demonstrates why working with an insurance agent is so important.

Long story short, they spent years paying more than $50,000 in unnecessary premiums! 🤯

They had called their insurance company to remove their adult son from their policy 8 years ago but instead of removing him, the company kept him enrolled in the original plan as a secondary policy. No one was aware of this until my client called to cancel the policy because they were moving onto Medicare. At this point, the company asked if they wanted to continue coverage for the son. But no one had any idea he was still on the policy!

When they brought up the discrepancy, the insurance's company response was:

"You should have had an agent to help you with that." 😡

Now that we're working with this client, we're doing all we can to help him get his money back. We're filing a claim with the Department of Insurance on his behalf in hopes of recouping the thousands they spent on unnecessary premiums because of the company's error.
