If you're on Medicare and not on Social Security, you have to pay your Medicare Part B premium of $202.90 per month or you'll risk being dropped for the year. If this happens, you'll have to wait for the general enrollment period of January-March of the following year to re-enroll – and deal with late enrollment penalties.

Once you get your Medicare number, you can set up online payments for your premiums by creating an account at medicare.gov. You can pay month-by-month, pay a year in advance or sign up for automatic payments through Medicare Easy Pay.
